Confined self-portraits by cinephotographer Xavier Grobet during 2020 Covid pandemic.
“Just to be clear: these are not selfies. This is not you in a world heritage site trampling it with your sustainably made hiking boots, or me could showing off my pounds lost, or your friend with his celebrity-designed overpriced shirt, or a frenemy with a locally sourced meal, or anyone at a misguided wedding, or everyone with their new puppy. What Xavier has done here is to join the time-honoured roll of artists who have used a mirror to take a good, hard look at the inner sanctum of their souls”.
